Samsung charging tip – how to charge properly
Here’s Samsung’s official tip…
To get the most out of your smartphone’s battery, you’ll need to charge it properly.
Most smartphones have a lithium-ion battery that lasts a long time when charged frequently.
Unlike the nickel batteries used in older phones, lithium-ion batteries work best when stored above 50% charge.
Allowing the battery to fully discharge can shorten its life and reduce its overall capacity.
If this happens, you will need to charge the battery more often and it may take several hours before you need to charge, for example.
Leaving the phone connected to the charger (when the phone is fully charged) while using it can reduce battery life if you do it frequently.
Samsung explains: “To use the super fast charging feature, use a USB PD (Power Delivery) charger that supports super fast charging.
It is recommended to use a 25W charger for S22/S23 (battery capacity 3700mAh).
“45W charger for Galaxy S22+/S23+ and Galaxy S22/S23 Ultra (battery capacity 4500-5000mAh).”
Of course, there are challenges you may face.
If you don’t have enough charging power, it won’t turn on Fast or Super Fast charging.
It will also not be activated if you only use a standard charger.
And Samsung warns that the feature may not work if you don’t use one of the official approved adapters.
Samsung recognizes that you need to be able to charge your battery even faster if the device turns off.
Or at the very least, keep the screen off for a charging boost.
In addition, Samsung warns: “If the device heats up or the ambient temperature rises, the charging speed may decrease automatically.
“This is a normal operating condition to prevent damage to the device.”
